14th June 2005. Porthmadog’s first real ale brewery fired up the copper for the very first time, brewing an aptly named beer: No.1.
Now, 3,511 brews later, we’re raising a glass to celebrate 20 years of Purple Moose Brewery.
From our early days in a small town in North Wales to becoming a name recognised across Wales and beyond, we’ve stuck to what matters: brewing high-quality beer without compromise. The same recipes. The same ingredients. The same love in every pint.
To commemorate the occasion, we’ve released Opulence, a strong ale aged for four months in Barbados rum and Penderyn whisky casks. It's rich, celebratory, and a little bit indulgent. Perfect for this momentous anniversary.
As we look to the future, we’re thrilled to share a fresh new look for Purple Moose Brewery. Over the past few months, we’ve been working with the talented team at Cardigan Creative to evolve our brand while honouring our roots.
Our real ale range now wears a clean, timeless design that reflects the heritage of the brewery.
Our craft beer range embraces the sense of adventure that Wales inspires, from world-class coastlines to adventure-filled mountains.
It’s still the same beer you know and love. Same recipes. Same care. Just a great new look to carry us into the next 20 years.
As we transition through current stock, you’ll begin to see the new branding roll out. By the end of this year, we expect the full range to be refreshed and on shelves.
To everyone who’s enjoyed a pint, stocked our beers, visited the brewery, or simply raised a glass with friends — thank you. We wouldn’t be here without you.
