Gold for the Moose at the First Indie Beer Awards Cymru

Purple Moose Brewery is celebrating a triple gold medal haul at the very first Indie Beer Awards Cymru 2025, hosted by SIBA at the brand-new Indie Beer Cymru Festival in Haverfordwest.

The event, held at Haverhub on 18–20 September, showcased Wales’ biggest line-up of cask and keg beers from Welsh independent breweries, alongside live music and street food. Yesterday’s judging and awards ceremony recognised the very best in Welsh brewing, and we’re proud to be among the winners.

Our Winning Beers

🥭 High Hops: Gold + Category Champion
🏞️ Glaslyn: Gold
🌒 Dark Side of the Moose: Gold + Category Champion

Two of our beers, High Hops and Dark Side of the Moose, were also crowned Category Champions. This means they will go forward to represent Wales at the National Indie Beer Awards held at BeerX in Liverpool next year.

A Milestone for Dark Side of the Moose

The victory is particularly special for Dark Side of the Moose, our multi-award-winning dark bitter. It has now notched up an incredible 31 awards since its creation.

Brewing Awards in Numbers

With these three new gold medals, Purple Moose Brewery’s beers have now received a total of 133 awards. This is a true testament as we celebrate 20 years of brewing, to the dedication, passion, and skill of our team in Porthmadog.

Thank You

A huge thank you to our hardworking team, from the brewhouse to the draymen delivering the finished beer, and to everyone who supports independent Welsh beer. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
